Certified Aircraft Engine or Auto Conversion? Choices, choices!
I could dedicate a whole other web site to the discussion of what type of engine is best and at the end of the day, there probably wouldn't be a clear all around winner. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, so in the end, it comes down to personal preference. I chose a Subaru (yes, the car company) auto conversion by NSI Aero of Arlington, Washington (USA). It has more power and greater fuel efficiency than its "certified" counterpart, costs about $10k less, comes with its own instrument panel and should be a doddle to install.

My engine arrived today from NSI Aero!!!! Pretty much right on schedule as well. There are some bits missing like the propeller and the manuals for the instrument panel, but I'm sure they will show up soon. Unloaded the crate and inspected the parts for damage. Everything was in order. This really is a piece of engineering, it barely resembles the Subaru car engine from whence it came. Very pleased with the quality and completeness, this should be a joy to install.
